We celebrate and support our vibrant\u202fLGBTIQA+<\/a>\u202fcommunities here at La Trobe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you are\u00a0a\u00a0new\u00a0student\u00a0to La Trobe or have been around for\u00a0a while, check out these ideas\u00a0on how to connect with our rainbow student communities at La Trobe.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Join the La Trobe Queer Club<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

La Trobe is home to the La Trobe Queer Club<\/a>, a student-run LGBTIQA+ club, that holds weekly meetups and other special events on the Bundoora campus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Trobe also has a range of inclusive student clubs and societies, catering for a range of interests including gaming, craft, anime, music, religion and politics. Search the full list of clubs and societies on the\u202fstudent club<\/a>\u202fweb page. If you don\u2019t find something you like, you can always\u202fstart a club of your own<\/a>! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Join our group program \u2013 Finding Pride\u202f<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Finding Pride<\/a>\u202fis a group program run by LGBTIQA+, for LGBTIQA+ people. It offers resilience-building skills and the chance to form connections with a close group of peers. If you\u2019re keen to get involved but struggling to make the first step, this might be a good program for you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each program runs once per semester, with students attending seven 1.5-hour sessions over seven weeks. Available at the Bundoora campus (Semester 1) or online (Semester 2). Register now for our 2026 program, starting 26 March (Week 4):\u202fnow.latrobe\/findingpride<\/a>\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Chat\u00a0with\u00a0the LTSU Queer Officer<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The La Trobe Student Union\u00a0(LTSU)\u00a0Queer Officer is a dedicated elected representative for LGBTIQA+ students\u00a0using the\u00a0Bundoora campus.\u00a0If\u00a0you\u2019ve\u00a0got ideas, questions or just want to know\u00a0what\u2019s\u00a0coming up, you can find out more and get in touch via the\u00a0LTSU website<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Visit the Pop-up Bundoora Queer Lounge<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 2026, Bundoora campus is hosting a pop-up Queer Lounge in HU3-341! Any LGBTIQA+ students are free to come in, relax, pick up some resources, enjoy the view over Simpson Lawn and maybe even meet a new friend.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Attend La Trobe Pride Week<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

La Trobe celebrates our annual Pride Week each year in August, to avoid clashes with June exams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2026, Pride Week will be held from 24 \u2013 28 August (Semester 2, Week 7).\u202f<\/strong>With stalls, entertainment, webinars and more, Pride Week is an opportunity to connect, celebrate and support our rainbow communities at La Trobe.\u202f\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other Support and Initiatives at La Trobe<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

LGBTIQA+ Specialist Counselling<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re looking for support, we have dedicated\u202fLGBTIQA+ Counsellors<\/a>\u202fwho have specialist experience in supporting LGBTIQA+ students. You can talk to our LGBTIQA+ Counsellors about a range of issues that may impact your study or personal life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

LGBTIQA+ Ally Training<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Respect at La Trobe team run\u202ftraining and workshops<\/a>\u202fto help everyone create more inclusive communities, including\u202fLGBTIQA+ Ally training<\/a> which is run multiple times throughout the year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trans and Gender-Diverse Voice Services<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u202fTrans and Gender Diverse (TAGD) Voice Clinic<\/a>, situated at La Trobe Melbourne (Bundoora) campus, provides an individualised program of voice and communication training for people wishing to explore the different ways they can use their voice and communication to express their gender. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are proud to be home to\u202fthe Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS<\/a>), which conducts world-class research and education on the social dimensions of sexuality, gender, health and human relationships. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ARCSHS is also home to\u202fRainbow Health Australia<\/a>, a program that supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTQIA+) health and wellbeing through research and knowledge translation, training, resources, policy advice and service accreditation through the Rainbow Tick. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
