The University will be closed from 25 December 2025 – 4 January 2026. All face-to-face services will be unavailable during this time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though we\u2019re winding down for the year, that doesn\u2019t mean all your student support services are also taking a break. Make the most of them during your downtime so you\u2019re ready to hit the ground running in Semester 1, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Trobe has a support service to help you out and ensure you\u2019re feeling confident by the time Semester 1 rolls around. And the best part? They\u2019re all FREE<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employability<\/strong><\/a><\/td>The Employability team will be taking a short break over the holiday period. We will be closed from 5pm on 24 December 2025<\/strong> until the<\/strong> 5 January 2026<\/strong>.

Career Ready Appointments will resume on 27 January 2026<\/strong>, however if you would like to connect with our team prior to this date, you can email us at careers@latrobe.edu.au<\/a>.

Future Students<\/strong><\/a><\/td>The Future Students Domestic and International teams will close at 5pm on 24 December 2025 until 28 December 2025<\/strong>.
 
From 29, 30 and 31 December both centres are open from 10am to 4pm<\/strong> for all channels except consults (phone, chat, emails and Ask a question).
 
We will also be conducting outbound calls on the 29 and 30 December for domestic students. We will then close and reopen again at the following times for all channels:
 
Domestic : 5 Jan 2026, 8am to 6pm
International: 5 Jan 2026, 9am to 5pm.

Wellbeing Services<\/strong><\/a><\/td>Our Student Wellbeing Services remain open throughout December, January, and February<\/strong>, so you don\u2019t need to wait for classes to resume to look after your wellbeing. The only time we\u2019ll be closed is during the University shutdown period from 25 December to 4 January<\/strong>, with services resuming as normal from 5 January onwards<\/strong>.

During the shutdown, the University Crisis Line<\/strong> will remain available on 1300 146 307<\/strong> or by texting 0488 884 100<\/strong>.

Any online enquiries received through our intake form<\/a> will be actioned when the University re-opens. You can visit the Wellbeing Services Resource Hub<\/a> for online resources all-year round, including during the shutdown period.

Indigenous Student Services<\/strong><\/a><\/td>If you need assistance during the University shutdown, please call 0403 726 322 (between 9 am and 5 pm).

Melbourne (Bundoora) Campus students will continue to have 24 hour access to the Ngarn-gi Bagora Indigenous Centre (Room 228, Level 2, Agora East Building).

International Student Support<\/strong><\/a><\/td>24-hour student assistance hotline<\/strong>

This is a special after-hours telephone hotline for international students at La Trobe University. We care and want to help you with anything you might be worried about.

If you need help at night <\/strong>or on the weekends<\/strong>, call 1800 758 360<\/strong>. This is a free call from landlines anywhere in Australia. Standard call rates apply from mobile phones.

You can contact the after-hours hotline<\/strong> from outside Australia by calling +61 2 8905 0325<\/strong>.

Graduate Research School<\/strong><\/a><\/td>The Graduate Research School team are taking a break over the University break and will not be available to respond to queries. During this time, graduate researchers will still have access to all forms, candidature, progress and scholarship information through StudentOnLine<\/a>.

Those planning to submit their thesis during the holiday period will need to ensure that they submit their Authority to Submit Form (ATS) via PRIME by 22 December 2025 in order to receive the submission link. The thesis submission portal will continue to be operational for submission, however there will be no system support during this time.

Examination forms can also still be submitted through PRIME<\/a>, however, processing of these forms will not happen until staff return on 5 January 2026. Additional resources which may assist you regarding your candidature are also accessible on the Graduate Research School website<\/a>.

Library<\/strong><\/a><\/td>The library staff are taking a short break over the University shutdown period. Please regularly check out our summer opening hours<\/a> so you know when services resume and stay informed of any unforseen changes to opening hours and building access. <\/a>

Please note that Bendigo, Mildura, Shepparton and City campus libraries will be unable to receive returns of loaned materials while library buildings are closed.
Albury-Wodonga and Melbourne (Bundoora) libraries will be able to receive limited returns that fit through the return chutes. Bulky items will need to be returned prior to the shutdown period or when the buildings re-open, depending on your loan expiry date.

The Peer Learning Advisor (PLA) service wraps up for 2025 on Friday, 12 December and will return in February 2026.
