Every year five students are nominated and elected to the University’s Academic Board – we are now seeking student nominees.
Academic Board is the primary body for academic governance and decision-making at the University. The Board is established under legislation and provides advice to the Vice-Chancellor and University Council on issues that affect academic excellence. It provides a forum for information and debate within the University and is responsible for policy on matters such as admissions, assessment, teaching, student conduct, research and academic promotion. Academic Board reports directly to Council.
Membership of the Board includes senior academic leaders of the University, elected staff members and student representatives. The president of the student union, association or representative body of each campus (or their nominee) is a member of the board, as well as 5 elected student members who are elected annually.
As part of the nomination process, nominees must complete the online nomination form and provide details of their skills and experience relevant to service as an Academic Board member.
Full details of eligibility to nominate for the position, the nomination process and Academic Board member roles and responsibilities can be found on the Academic Board Election website.
Nominations to be received by 5.00 pm Tuesday, 15 September 2020.
Kind regards,
Returning Officer (Academic Board)
