Summer School at the NGV

Discover the nexus of art, design, science and technology in the NGV Triennial. But don’t just view what’s there. As the Learning Partner for the NGV, we’re offering La Trobe students the opportunity to get up close and personal with the NGV Triennial exhibition.

As the NGV’s Summer Learning Partner, La Trobe offers students the only university-accredited subject taught with the gallery. This February, choose the Summer at the NGV elective and study a truly diverse selection of works that explore the intersection of art, design, science and technology around the globe from multiple perspectives.

This kind of industry learning environment is second-to-none. It’s studying the original works of art in a world-class exhibition, guided by leading academics in their field and an arts and cultural organisation at the top of its game. For any career they pursue, our students get the advantage.

Explore this bold and ambitious display of contemporary art, design and architecture in the one, thought-provoking exhibit. Students of Summer at the NGV will be led by both NGV curatorial staff and La Trobe academics from a range of disciplines – experts who’ll guide you through the intersecting ideas, microcosms and artforms.

Like every year, Summer at the NGV students will have access to the exhibition. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the course will be delivered in blended mode with online content.
