What is Stream?

Stream is a community of creators and storytellers who work with the University’s Student Communications team on projects published on the MyLaTrobe blog, weekly email, app and social media channels (Facebook, and Instagram).

We’re looking for students who love social media, writing, presenting, photography, creating video content, or have a keen passion they’d like to share with other students.

The projects you’ll work on

As a member of Stream, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects throughout the year. You could:

  • Host and capture live coverage of events on campus via Instagram Stories
  • Write blog posts for the website across a range of topics
  • Be a presenter, actor, director or videographer for video content
  • Create your own videos and pitch them for publication
  • Take amazing photos of life on campus to be shared on our social channels
  • Create a day-in-the-life videos for Instagram Stories or host takeovers

What’s involved?

We meet once a week to chat about upcoming content themes, discuss ideas and provide guidance.

Meetings take place in the Agora Media Hub at Bundoora campus for less than an hour. We’ll also keep in touch via our Facebook group.

What’s in it for you?

You will gain valuable experience and exposure to enhance your employability and skillset. This may include gaining experience in content production, social media, journalism, or presenting on topics related to your degree, passions or community.

Through Stream, you’ll also be able to throw your hat in the ring to work on skills that may not necessarily be part of your degree.

We’ll credit you for your work and we’re happy to give your social media channels a plug too, so you can be #famous.
