Steps to being ready for Orientation

Orientation is the best way to jump start your studies and be prepared for the exciting things to come during your first Semester at La Trobe.

While things might look a little different this year as we continue responding to the challenges of COVID-19, we have made sure there are still lots of opportunities for you to learn about your course, all of the support available to you as a La Trobe University student and meet peers and staff members.

Follow these easy steps to get the most out of Orientation and get set for success. 

Step 1 – Explore and engage with the great selection of Orientation events via the Orientation Planner and start planning your Orientation experience. 

Step 2 – Get enrolment support. We’re here to help you make a confident and successful start to your studies. We support you in your enrolment by providing Enrolment support at your campus through a suite of sessions, activities and support options.

Step 3 – Be prepared by downloading and understanding how to use the different online platforms and software you will use while studying. Check out the SITS Starter Class to get up to speed on all things La Trobe technology. Other great resources, information and advice is available through Student IT Support.

Step 4 – Complete the La Trobe Online Orientation module.

Additional Help and Support

During Orientation you will get important information about your course, meet your lecturers and other students too. There is a variety of live or on-demand events to attend including course-focused workshops and study skill sessions.
