My name is Jennett and I am a student on placement at La Trobe in the Health and Wellbeing Resource Centre. I’m passionate about raising awareness about blood donation and I’m in need of your help!
Did you know that 31,000 blood donations are needed every day, and one in three Australians will need blood or blood products in their lifetime?
Every donation can save up to three lives, but did you know that only 3% of the Australian population gives blood every year?
Sign up to donate blood!
I invite you to consider signing up to donate blood. It only takes an hour and it could change or save someone’s life! You can do your part in helping save lives by visiting a blood donation centre in your area (there are many!) and book an appointment.
This Wednesday the 26th May I’ve invited a representative of the Red Cross, Doug to join us at the Bundoora campus on Market Day. Look for his stall in Agora from 10am – 2pm. If you’re unsure of what is involved in donating blood and you just want some more information, or you want to sign up in person, come and have a chat to Doug and he can help you out.
If you’re on another campus but you want to sign up as well, you can visit the Red Cross donor site to find out more information or call out Health and Wellbeing Resource Centre for more help and information.
