Old password? You’ll need to update it to access your La Trobe systems.

If your La Trobe account password has been in use for 365 days or more you will now be prompted to update it. You will need to update your password to access all University systems.

As part of our push to improve cybersecurity for all La Trobe students, the University has implemented an annual password expiry for all students.

What does this mean?

If you have not changed your password in the last 365 days – you will now be prompted to reset your La Trobe student account password.

What happens if I don’t update my password?

If you don’t update your password you will not be able to access StudentOnline to access your results and other information and you will not be able to access your other University accounts including the LMS, Allocate + and the Library.

How do I reset my password?

To reset your password follow the instructions outlined in the video below.

What makes a secure passphrase?

  1. Use a passphrase, not a password.
  2. Make sure your phone or computer is up-to-date with the latest software and application updates.
  3. Don’t use the same password for all of your accounts.
  4. Use a password management tool.
