Midsumma Pride March 2021 will return to Fitzroy St, St Kilda on Sunday 23 May 2021. Once again marchers will colour Fitzroy St in a parade of solidarity with the LGTBTIQA+ community.
La Trobe University (LTU) has been allocated 30 tickets for members of the LTU community (staff and students) to participate in the march on the day. All marchers are required to pre-register and so we are seeking expressions of interest for those who would like to march on the day. Marchers should be available from 10am to 2pm on the day.
If you would like to march with LTU please email your expression of interest to firstname.lastname@example.org by 5pm Friday the 9th of May. Please indicate in your email whether you are a staff member or a student. Spaces are limited, so first in best dressed!
You will be notified by the 16th of May if you have been allocated a ticket.
If you are unable to march or are not allocated a ticket to march with LTU, Midsumma is encouraging audiences to attend/view the march in ONLY TWO ways:
- Book into a Fitzroy St venue to watch the parade from 11am, and stay all day for the ocean breeze, sunset, and afternoon vibes in iconic St Kilda.
- Watch the parade from your home, or a participating venue on Fitzroy St, as Midsumma Festival will live-stream (from the Midsumma Facebook Page) Midsumma Pride March for the first time. The stream will begin at approx. 10am and conclude approx 2pm.
More information about the event and the COVIDSafe plan for the day can be found here.
LTU will also be participating in a virtual stall for the Midsumma Festival 2021.
