Regular MyLaTrobe readers will know about Commons Time, the program at regional campuses that brings together first-year students from similar disciplines once a week for networking and academic support.
It’s all about making the student experience that bit lighter and brighter, building connections between peers and staff, developing interdependence, academic skills and learning more about what it means to be a university student.
The shutdown period caused by COVID-19 means Commons Time is happening a little differently in Semester 2.
Instead of attending a weekly session at your campus, there’s now an online Commons Time each week for your area of study.
One cool thing about this new arrangement is you’ll get to hang out online with students from other regional campuses.
Here’s the Commons Time schedule:
|Business / Arts||Cathy||Monday||12pm – 1pm|
|Outdoor Recreation||Suzie||Monday||1pm – 2pm|
|Biomed/Science||Justine||Monday||1pm – 2pm|
|Nursing / Social Work||Natasha||Tuesday||1pm – 2pm|
|Early Years, Primary & Studied||Suzie||Tuesday||1pm – 2pm|
To get involved, all you need to do is enrol in the LMS page 2020 Commons Time (you may already be enrolled!) There you’ll find links to the weekly Zoom session in your LMS, as well as more info about the program!
