Plans for Semester 2 teaching

The below message was emailed to all La Trobe students on 9 May 2022

As a University whose priority is the health and wellbeing of our students, staff and communities, we are committed to providing a safe and engaging on-campus experience while we continue to navigate COVID-19.

Throughout 2022, we have focused on maximising face-to-face learning across our campuses and in Semester 1, more than 84 per cent of our teaching activities were delivered on campus.

In Semester 2, we will continue to maximise face-to-face classes. Some of our classes will remain online where this is deemed the most suitable method for learning. All teaching activities will continue to be subject to a comprehensive safety risk assessment that will ensure we minimise risk of COVID exposure on campus. Wherever appropriate, we will continue to deliver choice for students with online and face-to-face class options. This will ensure you can make individual and informed decisions about how you engage with your studies while also allowing us to provide access to classes for those students who are unable to attend campus (such as students who are immunocompromised, COVID-19 exposed or isolating, and offshore international students).

You can continue to help us maintain a COVID-safe environment on campus by:

Note if you are enrolled in subjects with compulsory face-to-face components you must complete the COVID-19 Vaccine Status Form to be able to attend campus. If this applies to you, we will be in contact with more information. You will be able to find out more information about the requirement for your subjects next semester when you plan your enrolment.

La Trobe continues to innovate our teaching practices to design relevant, engaging and flexible study options for our students. Across all our courses we are carefully considering how best to design and deliver engaging teaching and learning experiences that allow students to make the most of their time on campus and fit study around their busy lives. As always, our focus is on providing an outstanding student experience.
