Mental Health Basics: session for Albury Wodonga students

Mental Health Basics is a four-hour training session that has been designed to help students learn:

  • to recognise common mental health symptoms in students
  • how to be an empathetic and compassionate listener
  • where to refer someone for more support

This session will cover an understanding of different mental health presentations such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, self-harm, and suicidality. The session includes facts, stats, prevalence, and mental health stigma. The session also covers techniques to be able to provide emotional support to someone struggling and be able to point them in the direction of support.

Where: Albury-Wodonga Campus – Building 4, Administration, AW-4-4211

When: Tuesday 20 September 2022, 10 am – 2 pm
