La Trobe gears up to host Autumn Cycling Classic

After a successful return of the event last year, riders across Melbourne will once again take to the scenic Ring Road course for the 2022 Autumn Cycling Classic.

One of the largest cycling events in Australia, the Autumn Cycling Classic is hosted by the Northern Combine (via the Preston Cycling Club) in partnership with La Trobe University.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday 28 May and will host hundreds of elite, junior and recreational riders at La Trobe University’s three-kilometre-long closed circuit Ring Road course on the Bundoora Campus.

The Autumn Cycling Classic made a highly successful return in 2021 after missing 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and according to Preston Cycling Club President, Angelo Sirianni, plans are in place to make this year’s edition of the event the biggest and best yet.

Please note, due to the event there will be road closures between 7:00am – 2:00pm. This will include the closure of the COVID-19 testing site in Car Park 7 and the Thomas Cherry Building/Science Drive bus stop between these times.
