There’s a heap of exciting developments and building upgrades across our campuses, including the upgrade of the Jenny Graves building at Bundoora. Featuring a digital innovation hub and student service centre, we can’t wait to celebrate the completion of this in February as students start to return to campus!
Works across Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo and Shepparton have continued across the break, including new nursing labs and shared study spaces.
Jenny Graves – project completion
The work to upgrade the Jenny Graves building (formerly Thomas Cherry) into a new innovation precinct is nearly complete. Extensive works on the building included upgrading all levels of the building:
Level 1 – Student Service centre
Level 2 – Digital Innovation hub – providing businesses, students, and community access to advanced facilities
Level 3 – Bio Innovation Hub: Supporting the biotechnology industry to accelerate research, development and commercialisation through access to laboratory facilities
Level 4 – Solvay (an external partner) who will use the newly created lab space.
The project also included a new front entry with improved access to all levels.
Work will finish up in February and partners and staff will move into the newly refurbished spaces in the coming months.
Bendigo – ARTS refurbishment
Work is now complete on levels 2 and 3 and furniture is currently being installed. Staff from Humanities and Social Sciences, Psychology, Pharmacy and Biomedicine will be relocated to their new space in time for semester 1.
There are some new shared spaces for students on both levels 2 and 3 – we will communicate once the spaces are open for use.
Albury Wodonga
Work has commenced on the Nursing labs with the site set up and demolition works now underway on the eastern side of the AW-4 building. Work on stage one of this project will be complete by mid this year.
