The Premier announced on Sunday 17 October an update to Victoria’s Roadmap.
Due to record vaccination rates, Victoria is set to hit its 70 per cent double dose vaccination target in the Roadmap on 21 October, five days earlier than was planned in the original Roadmap.
The revised government Roadmap does not affect the current settings for La Trobe.
From 11.59pm on Thursday 21 October, the curfew and the 15km travel radius will be lifted for metro Melbourne. However, movement between regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne will continue to only be allowed for permitted reasons.
The full details can be found in the Premier’s press release.
Authorised worker and student permits will continue to be required in order to work on campus or on placements until 11.59 pm, 21 October. Victorian Government’s mandatory vaccination requirements remain in place for Authorised Workers.
The Victorian Roadmap indicates that once the 80 per cent double dose vaccination target is reached (indicatively 5 November), on-site adult education will return for fully vaccinated Victorians.
More information will be communicated in due course to our students and staff, but there is likely to be a phased return to campus from 5 November, with all those attending our campuses from that date onwards required to be fully vaccinated, in line with the State Government directive. As we have communicated previously, all staff, students and visitors attending La Trobe’s campuses from 1 December, when the phased return is expected to be complete, will be required to be fully vaccinated.
We encourage all staff and students to get vaccinated. This will help protect you from serious illness, hospitalisation, and death from COVID and protect others.
It will also ensure you can access our campuses when Government Health directions permit, and contribute to keeping our communities safe.
Information will follow on how you will be required by the Department of Health to provide evidence of your vaccination certificate or temporary medical exemption when attending our campuses.
Staff and students based at the Sydney Campus should continue to follow New South Wales Government public health directions and updates from the local Sydney team.
