All services will resume on Tuesday 28 April 2026.

Academic Staff

If you reach out to your Subject Coordinator (or any academic) over this time and don’t hear back from them, please don’t worry. Most academic staff will be back at work from Tuesday 28 April and will respond to you then. All academic staff taking leave will have an automatic reply in their emails which will include the details of their leave and any other relevant advice, so check this for more guidance.

ASK La Trobe

Graduate Research School

Closed: Monday 27 April, reopening Tuesday 28 April.

During this time you can access your candidature and scholarship details, candidature variation forms, milestone dates and forms online, via Student OnLine or find further information and advice on the Graduate Research School webpage. You can also review details on the various stages of graduate research degrees and FAQs for further information.

Academic staff can also view information via My Academic.

Health and Wellbeing

The out-of-hours La Trobe University Crisis Line will be available all weekend and public holiday until 9am Tuesday 28 April. Call 1300 146 307, or text 0488 884 100. You can also visit the Health and Wellbeing resource hub for online resources.

International Student Support

24-hour student assistance hotline
This is a special after-hours telephone hotline for international students at La Trobe University. We care and want to help you with anything you might be worried about. If you need help at night or on the weekends call 1800 758 360.

This is a free call from landlines anywhere in Australia. Standard call rates apply from mobile phones.

You can contact the after-hours hotline from outside Australia by calling +61 2 8905 0325.

Library

The Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo and Melbourne (Bundoora) library spaces will remain open during the break.

Check the Library website for any changes to hours.

  • Virtual services – closed on Monday 27 April, reopening Tuesday 28 April.

The Library at City, Mildura and Shepparton will be closed on Monday 27 April, reopening Tuesday 28 April.

Check out Library Learning Services, a single place to find eLearning tools across La Trobe University. You can access self-paced learning activities when it suits you and from wherever you are. Library Support brings together resources like Achieve@Uni, Studiosity and LinkedInLearning videos, along with specially designed resources.

Peer Learning Advisors

Closed: Monday 27 April, reopening Tuesday 28 April.

Peer Learning Advisors (PLAs) are experienced students specially trained to help others. Check out Library Learning Services website for more information.

Student IT Support

Closed: Monday 27 April, reopening Tuesday 28 April.

Resources are available on the Student IT Support website and FAQs. Ask a Question online and you’ll receive a response after they reopen.

]]> Allocate+ is La Trobe’s system for allocating students to on-campus activities such as tutorials, labs, seminars and workshops. It also helps you create a personalised timetable.

Allocate+ operates in two phases:

1. Preference Entry Mode

  • Opens: 10:30am, Tuesday 9 December 2025 for the Semester 1, 2026 timetable
  • Closes: 5pm, Monday 19 January 2026

During this phase, you can nominate your preferred class times for your enrolled Semester 1 subjects.

Important: It’s not ‘first-come, first-served’. Everyone who enters preferences before the deadline has an equal chance of getting their preferred times.

If you don’t submit preferences by 19 January, you’ll be automatically allocated to available class times.

2. Allocation Adjustment Mode

  • Opens: 10:30am, Wednesday 21 January 2026 for the Semester 1, 2026 timetable
  • Closes: 5pm, Thursday 2 April 2026

Once this phase begins, you can manually adjust your timetable to your preferred class times if spaces are available.

Choosing your preferences in Allocate+

Before you can choose your preferences, make sure you’re enrolled in your 2026 Semester 1 subjects.

Need help enrolling? See our step-by-step guide for detailed instructions on how to enrol via StudentOnLine. You can also see the steps for enrolling in electives and troubleshoot any enrolment issues using the can’t enrol in StudentOnLine guided assist.

After you’ve enrolled, you may need to wait 24 hours for your newly enrolled subjects to show up in Allocate+, so try again later if you can’t see them straight away.

You can log into Allocate+ any time between 10:30am on 9 December and 5pm on 19 January and nominate your class time preferences.

Missed out? If you miss entering your preferences during Preference Entry mode, you may be able to make adjustments to your class allocations (where possible) during Allocation Adjustment mode between 10:30am 21 January and 5pm 2 April 2026.

]]> Can’t get enough of studying? Want to get your degree faster?

Why not use part of your summer break to get ahead in your studies! This year there are more summer subjects than ever and enrolment for Summer 2025/Term 1 2026 is open now!

You can use Summer School to:

  • finish university and start a career sooner
  • spread out the workload to a more convenient time
  • free up more time for working during the standard semester
  • study a subject that could be an elective in your course
  • complete a subject that you may have dropped previously (where offered)
  • make up for a subject that you failed (where offered).

Dates

Term 1 (6 weeks) 5 January 2026 – 13 February 2026

Check the Handbook to see which subjects are available during the Summer teaching period.

When using the Handbook search, select from the teaching period filter. Use the filter to find Summer subjects between 17 November and 13 February.

Please note you will need to complete two different searches to see all Summer subjects (i.e. one for subjects starting in 2025 and one for subjects starting in 2026).

Always double-check the Handbook to ensure that your chosen Summer subject is running. Subject instances may change at any time, without warning.
