ARTS and Library/Student Union Lift Upgrades – Bendigo Campus

Just like your car or your phone, some things reach the end of their life and need upgrading. Same goes for some of our infrastructure on campus…like lifts!

Over the last 12 months, we’ve been upgrading various lifts across our campuses as they reach end of life to ensure they can continue to meet our ongoing operational requirements.

On the Bendigo Campus, the Library/Student Union (LSU) and ARTS lifts are the next cabs off the rank. They will be out of service from 8 November 2021 to 28 February 2022 – see below for more details on the lift upgrades and the impacts.

Library/Student Union (LSU) Lift Upgrade

  • The LSU lift on the western side of the building will be out of service from 8 November 2021 to 28 February 2022.
  • During this time, one of the library lifts located on the new northern side of the building will be programmed to operate for all levels. A designated walkway with hoarding will be set up to enable alternate, safe access to library collections on Level 3.
  • There will be no impact to library services. Access to collections on Level 3 will be maintained at all times via the library lifts and stair access. You may notice some intermittent noise during works, so if you need a quieter space to study, there a plenty of other spaces available.
  • Signage will be in place to provide direction or you can ask our friendly library staff in person or online.

ARTS Lift Upgrade

  • The lift in the ARTS building will be out of service from 8 November 2021 to 28 February 2022.
  • Stair access will be available to access the upper levels of the ARTS building and also the ED building.
  • During the works, there will be some intermittent noise.

Business Building lift upgrade

The lift in the Business building is also in the process of being upgraded with works expected to be complete by late November 2021.
