You probably know changes are afoot at the Wodonga Student Association. Don’t worry – the WSA will still be on hand to make University that much more enjoyable. But to keep you in the loop, here’s the details we know so far.
When will the Hangar close, officially?
The Hangar Wodonga Student Association regret to inform you that as of October 21st, 2019, Wodonga TAFE will be assuming occupancy of the Hangar building.
So, what’s going to happen to the space?
Wodonga TAFE Institute have advised they are planning a refurbishment of the building for use by future students in the region.
What about the cafe?
The Hangar Café, as we know it, closed at the end of last week. There’s lots of love online for Susie and team at the café for their service to the Albury-Wodonga campus.
Will the WSA still be a great place to get a feed?
During August, café operations will be replaced by an increased focus on free food events on the University campus as a replacement for the loss of the Hangar Café.
Further information about WSA’s planned increase in free food events such as free breakfasts, morning teas and lunches will be circulated in Semester Two.
Also, the WSA would love to hear your ideas about activities for the rest of the year.
Where will the WSA call home from now on?
During second semester WSA will be transitioning student services and activities from the Hangar over to the La Trobe campus. Currently the WSA and La Trobe University are seeking to find a suitable place for WSA to reside on the La Trobe University Albury-Wodonga campus.
All stakeholders are in discussions to try and achieve the best outcomes for the Albury-Wodonga Students and WSA. WSA understands that loss of the Hangar, Café and Bar will impact many of you.
Still got questions we haven’t answered?
