About our group
Our research centres on general algebra (also known as universal algebra), semigroup theory, complexity theory, algebraic logic, the theory of natural dualities, lattice theory and related areas.
We have attracted talented young mathematicians who have won La Trobe University Postdoctoral Fellowships and ARC Postdoctoral Fellowships. Our group also attracts leading international researchers for stays of between one and two months.
We meet at weekly seminars throughout the academic year and we are also actively involved in the annual Victorian Algebra Conference.
Upcoming conference: GAIA 2013
Our group is holding the workshop/conference GAIA 2013 in celebration of Brian Davey's 65th birthday and retirement, 15–19 July 2013.
