Work Placements
La Trobe University Library offers ten-day work placements to tertiary students who require a student placement as part of their course. A limited number of opportunities are available from February through October. Applications are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
We recognise and understand the importance of work placements and the benefits they provide to students, host institutions, and the library sector.
How to apply
Placements for students enrolled in ALIA-recognised library and information management courses are coordinated by our Associate University Librarian for Library Learning and Development, liaising with student placement coordinators at universities.
Please contact Jay Glaisyer detailing the following:
- why you are interested in a placement at La Trobe University Library and the areas of library operations you hope to learn more about
- preferred month of placement
- any specific requirements from your education institution, including any requirements for specific projects as part of your placement
- your Working with Children Check card number
- a brief resumé.
