Australia introduced the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 in 2001. The Conference Organisers comply with such legislation which is designed to protect the right of the individual to privacy of their information.

Information collected in respect of proposed participation in any aspect of the NNVAWI Conference will be only used for the purposes of planning future NNVAWI Conferences and may also be provided to the organising body or to organisers of future events. It is also usual to produce a 'Delegate List' of attendees at the Conference and to include the individual's details in such a list. The Privacy Act 2001 provides that, before your name, organisation and state/country details can be published in the list of the conference delegates for distribution to fellow delegates or any other party, you must give your consent.

If you DO NOT wish to have your name and details included in the Delegate List please indicate this on the registration form.

Your registration and payment will be acknowledged in writing with confirmation of your requirements according to your registration form within 48 hours of booking. Your registration will not be processed or confirmed if payment does not accompany your form. The registration form is an approved Tax Invoice by the Australian Tax Office.

Goods and Services Tax (GST)

Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a broad-based tax of 10% on most goods, services and other items sold or consumed in Australia. For international visitors, a tax refund may be sought at the airport for goods purchased beyond the value of $300 and which are carried with them in their hand luggage when leaving the country. A tax refund is not available for goods or services consumed in Australia therefore the GST component of conference registrations fees, accommodation, tours, etc. are not claimable.

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. Participants carry their own risk for personal injury or loss of property, including baggage, during the conference. We strongly recommend that, at the time of booking your travel and tours, you take out a travel insurance policy. This policy should take into account loss of deposit through cancellation, medical insurance, loss or damage to personal property, and financial loss incurred through disruption to accommodation or travel arrangements due to business failures, strikes, or other industrial action. The Conference Managers, CLEMS, cannot take any responsibility for any participant failing to arrange their own insurance. Insurance must be purchased in your country of origin.

The NNVAWI 2016 Organising Committee including the Conference Managers, CLEMS, will not accept liability for damages of any nature sustained by participants or loss or damage to their personal property as a result of the conference or related events. Neither NNVAWI nor the Conference Managers, CLEMS, are responsible for any loss or damage as a result of alteration to the program, cancellations or postponement of the conference due to unforeseen occurrence or any other event that results in staging of the conference being impractical or impossible. Delegates are encouraged to take out their own insurance as necessary to cover potential losses.
