Senior Manager Projects
Owen Warlond has been working in the construction industry for 25 years having graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1991.
Throughout his architectural career, Owen worked in a variety of firms; leading and delivering projects in a diverse range of sectors including tertiary, retail, health, justice and residential. The design and construction of $100m expansion of the Knox Shopping Centre in a live operational environment, Owen acknowledges this was one of his more challenging projects. To successfully deliver this project Owen worked on site for the entire 12 month construction duration.
His journey eventually lead him into Project Management, where Owen delivered projects for Defence, the State Government, several Universities, Kangan Batman TAFE – Automotive Centre for Excellence and a number of specialist & bespoke projects. His key interest however was the tertiary sector, which led Owen to joined La Trobe University as a Project Director in 2013. During his tenure at Latrobe, Owen has been actively involved with projects such as the completion of the Sylvia Walton Building and the Reid Building Adaptive Re-Use Project. He currently holds the title of (Acting) Senior Manager, Projects overseeing over 95 live projects at any given time whilst remaining active in the development of several key Initiatives that align with the 2014 Masterplan.
