We’ve increased the range and amount of scholarships we offer, so whether you’re interested in undergraduate and postgraduate coursework or postgraduate research, there’s a La Trobe scholarship for you.
Destination Australia – an Australian Government initiative
The Destination Australia scheme supports new international students to study in regional Australia and offers students a high-quality learning experience. For eligible applicants, these scholarships are worth up to A$15 000 per annum for up to four years.

La Trobe scholarships for International Students
If you're a La Trobe graduate, you may be eligible for a 10 per cent fee reduction when you apply for a full-fee postgraduate coursework program. See our Alumni Advantage page for further details.
If you’re an international student and considering undergraduate or postgraduate study at La Trobe, you could be rewarded for completing your admission process early with the Early Bird Acceptance Grant.
Do you have an excellent academic record? La Trobe International Scholarships are awarded to high-achieving international students and provide up to a 30 per cent reduction in course fees for selected courses.
If you’re a high-achieving international student from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Kenya, Nepal, Bangladesh or Mauritius and are considering full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study, you can apply to receive a 50 per cent tuition fees scholarship for the duration of your studies from 2023.
If you’re a high-achieving international student from Vietnam, and are considering full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study, you can apply to receive a 50 per cent tuition fees scholarship for the duration of your studies from 2023.
If you’re a high-achieving international student from India or Sri Lanka and are considering full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study, you can apply to receive a 100 per cent tuition fees scholarship for the duration of your studies from 2023.
If you’re a high-achieving international student from Vietnam and are considering full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study, you can apply to receive a 100 per cent tuition fees scholarship for the duration of your studies from 2023.
Regional Victoria Experience Bursary
The Regional Victoria Experience Bursary is a top-up bursary for a prospective international student who is willing to undertake an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree in our Regional Campus. Find out more on the scholarship page.
Regional Scholarship – International Students
Study at one of our regional campuses and you could be eligible for a one-off payment of A$5000, which will be deducted from your first-semester tuition fees. Find out more on the scholarship page.
The ELICOS scholarship is a grant for prospective international students who will undertake an English for Further Studies (ELICOS) course with La Trobe College Australia (LTCA). Find out more on the scholarship page.

External scholarships
Australia Awards Scholarships are prestigious awards administered by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The scheme offers scholarship opportunities to international students from developing countries, particularly from the Indo-Pacific region, to undertake full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study in Australia.

Are you a Colombian student looking to commence postgraduate studies at La Trobe University? As part of La Trobe’s partnership with ICETEX, Master’s and PhD students from Columbia could be eligible for up to a 30 per cent reduction on their tuition fees.

La Trobe University has partnered with FIDERH to support high-achieving Mexican students undertaking postgraduate study. Successful applicants receive a 30% discount in tuition fees. If you are a Mexican student applying for an eligible Masters program at La Trobe University, you could eligible for a FIDERH loan.
