La Trobe University is committed to shaping an outstanding student experience, and our clever partnership with The Australian Ballet means our students have access to exclusive opportunities to enhance their education and employability.

As The Australian Ballet prepares to sashay onto the international stage for its ninth tour of China, third-year business management student Maddison Sorenson will join the company of elite dancers on an exclusive internship. Maddison will spend a week in Beijing working with The Australian Ballet to deliver David McAllister’s The Sleeping Beauty at the National Centre of Performing Arts.

Also joining the contingent to China is La Trobe alumna and The Australian Ballet physiotherapist Sophie Emery, who will work with the dancers to optimise their performance and health during the tour.

Now in its third year, our partnership with The Australian Ballet continues to showcase all kinds of clever from the worlds of arts and academia. Together, we’re conducting world-class sports science research into injury prevention and recovery. We’re supporting elite athletes in completing their tertiary studies while continuing a profession in dance. And we’re offering La Trobe students the opportunity to access exclusive, international and local internships with The Australian Ballet in varying disciplines; from marketing to event management to physiotherapy.
