PitchFest: Masterclass
Join us for PitchFest – two major events in one action-packed day!
Kicking things off is a free PitchFest: Masterclass delivered by the experts at 25eight exclusively for La Trobe University students, followed by a mini pitch competition.
Finalists compete that evening at the PitchFest: Showcase – a night of entertainment, networking and, of course, some serious pitching and prize money. All students are invited to attend and support the Showcase.

Got a winning business idea? Learn how to pitch it like a pro and you could win $1000.
Simply outline your business idea via the form below, and you could be one of 10 up-and-coming La Trobe student entrepreneurs selected to take part in the PitchFest: Masterclass.

During the Masterclass, you will:
- Gain insights from 25eight, ‘Startup Network’ pitch consultants
- Build on your public speaking and communication skills
- Develop and tighten your business concept
- Network with like-minded students and industry figures
- Boost your general employability skills
- Gain confidence in your ability as an entrepreneur and communicator.
The top three performing Masterclass participants will be invited to pitch on stage at the PitchFest: Showcase, to compete for the People’s Choice Award of $1000 prize money.

1:30pm Rehearsal
2:00pm Introduction to judges
2:15pm Pitching commences
2:45pm Break (Judges deliberate and select finalists)
3:15pm Finalists announced
3:30pm Finalists commence practice and prepare pitch for PitchFest: Showcase
4:30pm Close of Masterclass and head to evening PitchFest: Showcase.
To be eligible for the Masterclass, you must be a current La Trobe University student and have a business idea to explore during the session. The session format is designed to upskill students in the early stages of their concept development. Participants must not already have a registered business.
As part of PitchFest activities, finalists from the La Trobe Entrepreneurship Bootcamp will be pitching to distinguished judges and venture capitalists in their own category. Bootcamp finalists will be invited to the PitchFest: Showcase to compete for $30, 000 prize pool in a Shark Tank style competition. All participants are encouraged to attend the Pitch Fest: Showcase evening event. What a great learning experience!
PitchFest: Masterclass applications close Wednesday 4 October at 5pm. Successful applicants will be notified by Wednesday 11 October.
