Tuition fees for international students
Annual tuition fees vary from course to course. All tuition fees are shown in Australian dollars and are for students commencing in the 2018 academic year only. Tuition fees do not include the cost of text books, health insurance or living expenses such as food, accommodation, transport and medical costs.
You will be invoiced for fees based on your actual credit point load for each semester. Please refer to the information on the standard annual credit point load for a course.
Fees for 2018
If you are commencing studies in 2018 you should note that the tuition fee listed in your Letter of Offer is for commencing students for the 2018 academic year only. If acceptance of the offer is deferred to the next year, it is likely that a higher tuition fee will then apply.
Please note the University reserves the right to vary fees on an annual basis. Fees will not normally rise above 7 per cent per annum. Should the University decide to increase its fees, that increase will take effect on 1 January of the following year. In the event of a fee increase, you will be invoiced for any balance owing prior to enrolment.
Credit point load
Tuition fees are also based on the standard credit point load of 120 credit points for each course or program per year. On occasion study loads may vary. You will be invoiced for fees based on your actual credit point load for each study period. If you are here on a student visa, you should note that changing a credit point load may affect your student visa and all international students are expected to complete their course within the time of their visa. Please refer to individual course entries in this Handbook for the exact annual credit point loads.
Payment of fees
For all teaching periods, international fees are due and payable on the date specified on the University’s Statement of Account. Visit the International fees and scholarships webpage.
First semester fees
You must pay your first semester’s tuition fees when you accept your offer to La Trobe University.
Subsequent semester fees
How you will be billed in subsequent semesters depends on each subject’s Census date. The Census date is the last date for you to withdraw from a particular subject and not incur financial liability.
To check the Census dates for subjects, see the Census dates webpage.
A copy of the University's Refund Policy can be found on the International fees and scholarships webpage.
If you experience difficulties paying fees, you should speak with a Student Information Officer at La Trobe International or email: LTIFinance@latrobe.edu.au.
