This seminar, presented by Melissa McConaghy, will focus on some of the keys to the success, as well as the pitfalls, that have been observed in delivering a physiotherapy-led exercise program for people with Parkinson’s disease via telemedicine since 2015.

Mobile Rehab Innovations was established in 2006 as an entirely mobile rehab service and Advance Rehab Centre in 2009 after recognising the need for a purpose-built neurological rehab centre providing expert rehabilitation for people with complex therapy needs in Sydney. Melissa McConaghy is also founder of PD Warrior®, a program for people with Parkinson’s that is taught and licensed internationally and INSIGHT, an online conference that is part of the global education calendar for people with Parkinson’s.

Melissa is a clinician, educator, author, entrepreneur and thought leader. She is a Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists and holds a Master of Health Science (Neurological Physiotherapy) and Grad Certificate in Public Health. Melissa has a broad experience in community neuro rehabilitation and is director of both Advance Rehab Centre, a neurological outpatient and home based rehab facility in Sydney and PD Warrior, an exercise approach for people with Parkinson’s that is licensed in 10 countries and home to the INSIGHT virtual conference. Melissa currently sits on the Executive Committee of the International Neurological Physiotherapy Association (INPA) part of the World Congress of Physical Therapy and is past chair of the Neurology Chapter in NSW and NSW National Representative for the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
