Regional Career Practitioners and Teachers Conference
The Regional Career Practitioner and Teachers’ Conference is an opportunity to provide you with information on the many pathway programs available for students at La Trobe University. You will also hear about current practices and understandings to support you in monitoring and responding to students’ wellbeing as they face the many challenges in a post COVID-19 future.

You will hear from our Pro Vice-Chancellor (Regional), Dr Guinever Threlkeld who will be providing an update on La Trobe’s new regional strategy. Our Chief Marketing Officer, Tim Skellern will close out the conference with an update on La Trobe’s upcoming marketing and recruitment activity.
Dr Anne Southall will be considering the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of prolonged school closures, strict social distancing measures, economic uncertainty and family stress resulting in the mental health of students becoming a major concern for teachers and career practitioners. She will discuss the support practices available to assist with maintaining students’ mental health and wellbeing.
Dr Andrew Harvey will be addressing pathways to university, including two new programs: ‘Prepare’ for La Trobe and ‘Achieve’ at La Trobe. Andrew will also discuss La Trobe’s vision for increasing regional achievement, engagement, and enrolment in higher education including curriculum alignment, supportive outreach, conditional offers, and pathways that promote both university access and success.
