Please join us to hear Dr Sophia Holmlund share her research on health professionals’ experiences and views of providing maternity care in Vietnam.

Sophia has a clinical background in midwifery and completed her PhD in 2019, which focused on health professionals' views of the use of obstetric ultrasound in Vietnam and Rwanda. Following completion of her PhD, she worked within different research projects including gynaecological cancer, and a randomised controlled trial investigating the restoration of the microbiota in neonates born via caesarean delivery. From 2020, she has been employed as an Assistant Professor in Midwifery Science at Department of Nursing, Umeå University, Umeå, Sweden. Between 2021 and 2023 she will complete a postdoctoral fellowship at Judith Lumley Centre, La Trobe University, focusing on caseload midwifery within the MAGNOLIA trial.

The Judith Lumley Centre holds open lunchtime seminars on the first Wednesday of every month from February to December from 12.30pm - 1.30pm and also extra seminars at different times. These seminars showcase the work of national and international academics/researchers.
Our lunchtime seminars are free and open to all. They are delivered in accessible academic language and members of the wider community are welcome to attend
