Join Dr James Walker at Phee Broadway as he discusses his recent research in the midst of Woven Dialogue.

This event is one of four LAI Field Talks at the Castlemaine State Festival. In these talks, leading Latrobe academics discuss their field of research in parallel to contemporary visual arts in the festival.

Dr James Walker is Professor of Language Diversity at La Trobe University. His work focuses on the social dimensions of language use, especially in multilingual societies.

Woven Dialogue brings together aboriginal artists from the Northern Territory and Victoria who explore the synergies in their practice and knowledge through the interweaving of language. The early inspiration for this ongoing project arose out of the work created in Castlemaine as part of the Regional Centre for Culture in 2017-18.
