The 2022 LRHS Research Conference will explore future-based research which addresses major challenges and opportunities in rural, regional and remote health, and will present a diverse range of research which demonstrates the strong relationship that exists between the LRHS and industry and community partners.
Our rural health research activities are based on regional, national and international collaborations that foster reciprocity.
Speakers
Professor Sabina Knight
Professor Sabina Knight has been a key figure in the development of rural and remote health workforce policy and health reform.
She has served on a wide range of ministerial advisory bodies and was a Commissioner on the National Health and Hospital Reform Commission and the Queensland Health Reform Group.
She has been associated with University Departments of Rural Health since their inception in 1997 and currently leads the Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health, James Cook University in and for outback Queensland.
A/Professor Mark McEvoy
A/Professor Mark McEvoy is Senior Epidemiologist and Research Methodologist at La Trobe University Rural Health School, Bendigo, with an active research program in the epidemiology of chronic disease and healthcare worker research.
Mark has attracted almost $6M in research funding, published more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles over last 5 years, over 35 Systematic reviews, and 230+ publications over his career.
Mark is currently the lead investigator of the Loddon Mallee Healthcare Worker COVID Study – a study that will examine the health and well-being of healthcare workers within the Loddon Mallee health services.
