Group work creates invaluable learning opportunities for our students, enabling them to develop and enhance lifelong and key work-ready skills such as communication, collaboration, negotiation and teamwork. Group work further creates opportunities for students to develop their capability to work as part of a team in response to local, national and global problems/issues relevant to their discipline and profession.
This workshop will draw upon good practice educational principles to discuss effective design and management of group work. We will explore practical strategies and collaborate together to share experiences and learn from one another’s practice.
We will explore how to:
- Plan for effective group work across a subject or course
- Design authentic group work assessments to promote engagement and collaboration
- Assess the process of group work as well as the product
- Assess both group and individual contribution and achievement
- Optimise the process of group work and the quality of student’s learning
Important:
- Please note this session is only available for La Trobe University staff members.
- This session may be recorded for promotion and/or quality assurance purposes. Recorded sessions will be made available on the Education Services intranet page.
