Marcos Signorelli is an Associate Professor of Public Health at the Federal University of ParanĂ¡ (UFPR), Brazil. His research interests involve the intersections between gender, violence and health, particularly violence against women and violence against LGBTI+ people, with a focus on primary health care and multi-sectoral interventions in low-and-middle-income settings.
Marcos has been collaborating with the Judith Lumley Centre since 2010, and is an associate member of the Centre of Research Excellence (CRE) in Safer Families, The University of Melbourne. He currently coordinates a research program at the House of the Brazilian Woman of Curitiba (HBWC), a recently implemented public policy consisting of 24/7 specialized services for women in situations of violence, including health, psycho-social support, police, justice, shelter and economic independence. He also coordinates the Working Group on LGBTI+ health of the Brazilian Association of Public Health (ABRASCO), implementing the National Policy for LGBTI+ Health in three Southern Brazilian States.

The Judith Lumley Centre holds open lunchtime seminars on the first Wednesday of every month from February to December from 12.30 - 1.30 pm and also extra seminars at different times. These seminars showcase the work of national and international academics/researchers.
