Bike it Better will host a Novice Cycling Workshop - to promote sustainable transport using a bicycle to commute to La Trobe University.

You will learn:

  • Bike safety checks
  • Warm up and bike fit
  • Basic bike handling skills
  • Basic bike control skills
  • Intermediate bike skills: using gears, emergency stopping
  • Communication techniques: signalling, scanning
  • Traffic skills and discussion: positioning, merging in traffic, shared paths, bike lanes, dooring, tram tracks.

All participants will receive a TravelSmart Map for Darebin City Council and information on LTU's end of trip facilities (Bike sheds, lockers, showers).

All participants will receive a free coffee and lunch/breaky from Caffeine Cafe. Vouchers to be collected between 8am-1pm from the Sustainability Stand at the front of the Library.

PLEASE BRING YOUR ROADWORTHY BIKE AND HELMET.

The Agora will also have:

  • A 99 Bikes Preston stall
  • A 99 Bikes Mechanic to conduct Tune ups - Register for your  interest
