'Asian Studies in Focus' Seminar Series - Seminar # 2 / Philippines-Australia Forum Seminar # 3
Associate Professor Alfred Presbitero, MBA (International) Director, Deakin Business School, Deakin University
Filipinos have been globally mobile for many decades now with many studying and working overseas. Others are finding opportunities to remain in another country on a permanent basis and eventually acquiring another citizenship like in the case here in Australia. However, for many Filipinos, this journey can be challenging due to cross-cultural differences between Australia and the Philippines. In this presentation, Associate Professor Alfred Presbitero will present his work on global mobility and engage in a discussion about the power of cross-cultural intelligence for Filipino diaspora’s integration in and contribution to Australia’s multicultural society. He will also launch the “Cross Cultural Intelligence Network - Australia” to establish connections and strategically build cross-cultural capabilities in Australia.
This hybrid event will take place in-person at La Trobe University's City Campus, Room 2.10, Level 2, 360 Collins Street Melbourne and online.
