Get hands-on in workshops across one day and discover what being a uni student is really like. Bring your friends, partner or parents and find out what to expect at university.
You’ll attend workshops, lectures, seminars and meet the academics who’ll be teaching your course. Our student ambassadors can give you the inside scoop on Life at La Trobe and what to expect when you study with us. The event is targeted at year 10, 11 and 12 students.
This free, fully-catered event will allow you to completely immerse yourself in our Wodonga campus and engage with our students and staff.
Please be aware that due to current government public health restrictions relating to events and gatherings, all visitors must be fully vaccinated in order to come to a La Trobe University campus. All visitors will be required to scan in to University venues using the Service Victoria App or show an alternative method of evidence to demonstrate vaccination status. La Trobe reserves the right to refuse entry to any visitor who is not able to comply with these conditions of entry.

Please choose two sessions only, either from the morning (session 1 or 2) or afternoon (session 3 or 4). Those travelling from out of town must choose from the afternoon sessions.

NURSING | Gain an understanding the skills required by nurses in clinical practice. Experience a simulated clinical ward and nursing laboratory located right here on campus. In this session you can take part in caring for a simulation patient and interact with a range of equipment our students use as they train to become a Registered Nurse. |
PSYCHOLOGY | Curious about human behaviour? This interactive workshop will explore the types of psychological processes that happen during a typical day. You will leave the workshop with a better understanding of the science of psychology as it applies to the everyday, as well as a glimpse of what studying Psychology at university might be like. Why not study Psychology for the varied career opportunities? |
SOCIAL ARTS | Want a course with the flexibility to follow your passions and study a range of subject areas while traveling the world. A Batchelor of Arts offers broad skills, critical thinking and a worldly approach. English, History and Sociology are just some of the subjects you can explore that can lead to an exciting career in archelogy, museum curation, policy adviser or international development officer just to name a few. |
SOCIAL WORK | Social workers gain experience in many areas from many relationships, including parenting, mediation, child protection and domestic violence to working with people with disabilities. They can assist individuals, families and communities, change policies and develop programs. You can make a real difference with social work, come and find out how at our workshop. |

TAFE TO UNIVERSITY | Your ATAR is not the only method used to gain entry into university. Come along and meet the staff from Wodonga Institute of TAFE and hear about the programs offered to step you into a University degree while undertaking study in various fields and gaining employment along the way. |
BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE | Biomedical Science offers students entry into an exciting and rapidly-advancing field of human health. Applying leading-edge technologies, Biomedical Scientists research human physical wellness but also discover underlying causes of disease and develop innovative tools for their prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. A new degree offering at the Albury-Wodonga campus of La Trobe University from 2019, Biomedical Science provides graduates with a foundation for a career in a range of disciplines including medicine, biotechnology, medical science and other allied health specialties, as well as teaching, science journalism, and government policy development. We look forward to seeing you at our interactive laboratory session where you will meet local and international Biomedical Scientists and hear first-hand of their career paths and real-world experience. |
