2020 Financial Markets and Corporate Governance (FMCG) Conference

After successful 9th and 10th FMCG annual conferences in 2018 and 2019 in Melbourne and Sydney, respectively, with over 30 PhD students at the PhD symposiums and 120 academics at the conferences, FMCG 2020 brings together PhD Candidates, Academics and Practitioners from all over the world. This year’s theme is Capital Markets, Governance and Digital Finance.

La Trobe Business School, in collaboration with Macquarie University, Monash University, Queensland University of Technology, University of Queensland and Victoria University of Wellington, invite academics and PhD students to participate in the 11th Financial Markets and Corporate Governance Conference and PhD symposium (FMCG 2020). The conference will be held at the La Trobe City Campus, 360 Collins Street, Melbourne. The PhD Symposium takes place on the 15th of April, followed by the FMCG 2020 Conference on the 16th and 17th of April. There will also be practitioner sessions on the 16th of April.

The conference theme of FMCG 2020 Conference is "Capital Markets, Governance and Digital Finance".

Best Paper Awards

  • Conference - Six Best Paper Awards ($1000 each)
  • PhD Symposium - Six Best Research Paper Awards ($500 each)

Nomination for the selection of conference best paper awards and PhD Symposium best research paper awards will be considered from each of the following six broader categories. A total of six papers, one from each category for both Conference and PhD Symposium, will be selected for the best paper awards:

  1. Accounting Information/ Disclosure /Earnings Quality
  2. Asset Pricing, Market Microstructure and Financial Markets
  3. Corporate Finance and Financial Intermediations
  4. Corporate Governance
  5. Funds Management and Investment: Pension Funds, Mutual Funds and Superannuation
  6. Behavioural Finance, Digital Finance and Risk Management

Journal Special Issue

Pacific-Basin Finance Journal will run a special conference issue of the journal and all presenters at the conference and PhD symposium are invited to consider submitting their papers for publication. Pacific Basin Finance Journal, published by Elsevier, provides a specialized forum for the publication of academic research on capital markets.
