Dr Louise Brown

Dr Huang graduated with her Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Queensland in 2012.  She then entered research in the Paediatric Dentistry Department at the UQ where she obtained her Master of Philosophy. 

During that time, she also worked in private general practice.  She then moved to Melbourne and completed her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Paediatric Dentistry in 2018.  During her specialist training, she developed interests in treating children with special needs, behaviour management, dental anomalies, and management of dental trauma.

Dr James Brichko Endodontist

Dr James Brichko obtained his Bachelor of Dental Science and Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics from Melbourne University. James is a clinical tutor at both the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University as well as a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, committee member for the Australian Society of Endodontology and the treasurer of the Asia Pacific Endodontic Confederation. James is currently in private endodontic practice in Dandenong.

Dr Mathew Lim Special Needs Specialist

Mathew completed his undergraduate training at The University of Adelaide in 2009 and was awarded a concurrent honours degree for his research with the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health into the accuracy of perceived oral health in migrant populations in Australia under the supervision of Professors Gary Slade and Loc Do.  Subsequently he moved down to Hobart, Tasmania and worked a mix of private and public practice where he developed a passion for managing patients with special needs. 

He returned to Melbourne in 2015 to commence the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry program in Special Needs Dentistry at Melbourne Dental School under the guidance of Associate Professor Mina Borromeo and currently continues his PhD research into how access to care for individuals with special needs can be  improved by providing greater support to general practitioners.  

Mathew continues to work a mix of private and hospital-based practice.  He is the Director of Dental Services at Alfred Health and holds consultant positions with the Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Austin, and Statewide Progressive Neurological Disease Service.  He is a examiner for the Australian Dental Council, teaches in the Doctor of Dental Surgery, Bachelor of Oral Health, and Doctor of Clinical Dentistry programs at The University of Melbourne, and has served on various committees in the Australian Dental Association and Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons

Associate Professor Louise Brown

Associate Professor Louise Brown


Dr Louise Brown is the only practising dentomaxillofacial radiologist in Victoria, having completed the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry degree in DMFR at UQ in June 2015. She is also a periodontist and a specialist in public health dentistry, and holds a PhD from the University of Adelaide. She established her teleradiology reporting practice (Teledent Dental Imaging Diagnostics) in December 2015, which has now grown into a full time practice.

It provides comprehensive dental radiology interpretation and written reports on cone beam CT datasets and other dental images, for dentists and for medical radiology practices from all around Australia. Louise has served on many professional bodies including as past President of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists. She holds the honorary position of Associate Professor at the University of Queensland School of Dentistry.

Dr Sarah Chin Periodontist

Dr Sarah Chin graduated from dental school at the University of Melbourne in 2003 and worked in Albury- Wodonga for four years in general practice. She completed her postgraduate degree in periodontics in 2010 and was awarded an ITI scholarship at the Eastman Dental Institute, London for 2010-2011.

Sarah has been involved in teaching undergraduate dentistry at La Trobe University and overseas dentists. She is currently Lecturer in Periodontics and Convener for Periodontics for the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at the University of Melbourne. Sarah is the Victorian Candidate Advisor for the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons. Sarah is the immediate President of the Australian Society of Periodontology (VIC Branch) and is the current Federal Secretary/Treasurer. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons, Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International, member of the International Team for Implantology and Australian Osseointegration Society
