A World of Three Zeros
March 2018: Professor Yunus extended his global book launch for his latest book A World of Three Zeros visiting Australia in March - Three Zeros available from all good bookstores and online.

Social Enterprise Capability Voucher Program
January 2018: In 2017, La Trobe University YSBC Director Prof Gillian Sullivan Mort was identified as sector leader and received a personal invitation to apply for the Victorian Government Social Enterprise Capability Voucher Program. At the start of 2018, La Trobe YSBC was informed of its successful application.
September 2017: La Trobe University YSBC is competing for the Hult Prize. The Hult Prize is one of the world’s richest business competitions with USD $1,000,000 as its prize to fund a social enterprise with high growth potential. The competition challenges thousands of international university students to create a new social enterprise to help solve a pressing global issue. Workshops are provided to develop student teams as contenders.
Honour for social business pioneer
April 2017: Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus launched an innovative centre at La Trobe University designed to strengthen links between business and the community. During his historic visit, Professor Yunus was also presented with an Honorary Doctorate by Vice-Chancellor Professor John Dewar.
Social Enterprise Workshop
May 2018: Darebin Council Economic Development and La Trobe Business School delivered a practical workshop on turning your social enterprise sense of purpose into a working business. La Trobe University YSBC used their expertise to talk about social enterprise models and developing strong business skills. There was also a panel of local heroes to inspire participants with their stories of how they turned a passion for helping their community into a viable sustainable business.
Networks for Social Business in Asia Pacific
April 2018: The La Trobe University YSBC Director Prof Gillian Sullivan Mort organized a special session on Networks for Social Business in Asia Pacific and presented a key note at the 2nd International Conference on Healthcare, SDGs and Social Business.
Social Business Forum Asia
April 2018: The La Trobe University YSBC Director Prof Gillian Sullivan Mort was a panellist during the Social Business Forum Asia. She spoke to the Kyushu Business Accelerator Community at their downtown accelerator hub Fukuoka Growth Next. She also joined the Letter of Intent to have La Trobe YSBC participate in the Yunus Social Business Design Contest Asia-Pacific.
Launch of Yunus Social Business Centre NUK
March 2018: La Trobe University YSBC Director Prof Gillian Sullivan Mort was invited to the prestigious National University of Kaohsiung (NUK) in Taiwan to attend the launch of their Yunus Social Business Centre. She was also part of the judging panel for the Inaugural NUK Student Competition.
December 2017: La Trobe University YSBC Doctoral Student Mr Rafi Ahmed entered his brainchild InnokidsTM – an innovative program for kidpreneurship and graduated from the first round of La Trobe Accelerator Program (LTAP) on December 5. The graduation ceremony was held in Parliament House Victoria with pomp and grandeur in the presence of The Honourable Minister Philip Dalidakis, Victorian Minister for Small Business, Innovation and Trade.
Yunus Social Business Summit
November 2017: La Trobe University YSBC attended the Yunus Social Business Summit and Academia Conference in Paris presenting reports of the year’s activities and challenges ahead.
Social Business Academia Conference
November 2017: The Conference is held each year back to back with the Summit. Mr Rafi Ahmed presented his academic paper on his research on social business entrepreneurship training programs for the primary school ages.
