Support and contacts

The EdTech Teaching Support team support La Trobe University and partner staff in how to use La Trobe’s enterprise educational technologies, including Moodle (LMS), H5P, Turnitin, Echo360, PebblePad, Manage My Subjects and Zoom (for teaching purposes).

For support in designing learning and teaching experiences using technology refer to the Educational Design team.

Online modules

The following self-enrol modules are available for all staff wanting to learn the basics of La Trobe's educational technologies.

  • Introduction to the Learning Management System (LMS)
    The LMS is a platform that supports the creation of a collaborative online learning environment with a set of tools and activities that facilitate teaching and learning.
  • Introduction to PebblePad
    PebblePad is a platform that supports the creation of an online personal learning space and ePortfolios.
  • Introduction to H5P
    H5P is an open and free technology integrated into the LMS that enables the creation, sharing and reusing of interactive HTML5 content.

Custom group workshops

Workshops to train staff in the use of La Trobe’s educational technology can be delivered on request and tailored to the needs of specific groups of staff (e.g. sessionals, tutors, new staff, external staff). Examples include workshops on setting up your LMS subject, setting up your gradebook, communicating with students via the LMS, grading with Turnitin and grading with PebblePad ATLAS. One-to-one consultations

One hour consultations to train you in the use of La Trobe's educational technology can be delivered on request. Examples include setting up your subject for delivery pre-semester, managing marking, correcting gradebook issues and exploring advanced features of La Trobe's educational technologies. Staff can also drop-in for training and support in the Bundoora Learning & Teaching Lounge.

Staff can request support anytime via Ask EdTech or for more urgent support between 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday call 03 9479 1500 (Option 1 > Option 3).

Non-University partner staff can request support via the Get Help from EdTech webform or for more urgent support between 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday call 03 9479 1500 (Option 1 > Option 3).
