Environmental and resource economics
The department has a long-standing and widely recognised interest in agricultural, resource and environmental economics areas. Some staff have experience in working in these areas for 30 years and more. There is a recognised academic and professional consulting expertise in these areas. In recent years a shift has occurred in interests toward the specific issues of climate change and water resource management with particular emphasis on the Murray-Darling Basin.
The Centre for Water Policy and Management (CWPM) is an applied research organisation dedicated to improving our understanding of water policy and management choices and the impact of those choices on water users.
