My project explores nostalgia, love and loss through a shrine installation.
By revisiting sites of shared memories, walking around and taking photographs, my process seeks to revive real-life events, through found artifacts or photographic memories.
My project starts from my personal memories of my grandparents. I have been to their house in Rochester, where they used to live. I experimented and developed my photography skills by going around and taking photos of memorable scenes and artifacts. I have been as well sketching around these sites.
The shrine installation combines drawings, photographs, and site artefacts that evoke a sense of nostalgia, fragmented recollections, and loss beyond my personal experience.
