Entrance level

The minimum entry requirement is normally completion of a three year non-degree award.

IELTS 6.0 (minimum 5.5 in all skills) or equivalent is the minimum entry requirement for international students.

Learning outcomes

Postgraduate preparation courses are generally designed to broaden skills developed in previous studies, and to develop knowledge and skills to prepare students for postgraduate studies. For international students, through Academic Study Skills students are able to meet the English language requirements of their chosen degree.

Exit standard

Postgraduate preparation courses create eligibility to apply for entry to Coursework Master Degrees or Diplomas (Postgraduate or Graduate) in ways specified by individual faculties and approved by the Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Committee in the context of admission requirements for the relevant awards.


Postgraduate preparation programs are University qualification categories and the award is a Certificate of Achievement.
