Course content

Topics include:

  • The global threat landscape
  • Threat actors and the evolution of defence
  • Cybersecurity frameworks 
  • The defensive network landscape and network fundamentals, layers and protocols
  • Managing network traffic.

On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a digital credential and earn 5 credit points that can be accumulated with its partner course, Cyber Threats and Response, to stack into  'Cybersecurity in Practice (CSE1CPR)', a subject within the Bachelor of Cybersecurity.

Your study experience

This course is fully online and self-paced.

The total expected time commitment for this course is 40 hours, which includes guided learning, extended reading and assessment.  While it is expected that this is completed over 2 weeks, you will have access to the course for up to 12 months from the time of registration. 

The assessment for this course comprises an assignment where you are asked to model and review cyber threats.

Can payment of a course fee be made in instalments?

No, course fees need to be paid in full before you can commence the course.

I have paid the fee for a short course. When will I have access to the course?  

Access to courses is generally available two weeks in advance of the scheduled course start date, or as advised in the registration confirmation email.  Course materials are made available via our Learning Management System (LMS) for which you will be provided with your username and initial password.

I need to defer my registration. How do I go about this? 

Prior to your course commencing, you may request a deferral of your registration to the next available course date, by contacting executive_professional_education@latrobe.edu.au.
