Australian Open all in a day’s work for La Trobe grads
Three talented La Trobe sport journalism graduates have been hired to work at this year's Australian Open in various media roles.
Sean Munaweera, who graduated from La Trobe in 2014, has taken on the role of producer with the event's media, broadcast and digital teams. He believes his degree was key in helping him reach this early career milestone.
'Studying sport journalism at La Trobe allowed me to develop the core skills to cover this global event,' he said.
'This is the fifth Australian Open I've worked at.'
Nicola Conroy, who graduated in 2013, has joined the media production team as a digital assistant, while 2015 graduate Jake Stevens is working as a social media assistant.
