Prerequisites
Successful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent).
Note: Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.

Credit for previous study (advanced standing)
Credit for previous study (advanced standing) is the recognition of prior study or learning that can be counted towards a qualification. This can reduce the number of subjects required to complete your course. The amount of credit received depends on the level and relevance of your previous study and the number of subjects completed.
The University will designate courses where there is only admission into Year 1 of the course. In these cases, there is limited credit. See list of limited entry courses.

Course intended learning outcomes
- Critically analyse the current and emerging global business environment forces that shape how organisations conduct international business.
- Effectively communicate complex international business information and ideas in a variety of forms to a wide range of multicultural audiences.
- Collaborate effectively in multicultural teams to develop solutions to international business problems or challenges.
- Critically review and explain the role of the multinational firm in the global market and appraise its handling of transactions in cross-border trade and investments.
Graduate Diploma in International Business career opportunities
After graduation, you could work for multinational corporations, banks, management consultancies and technology-related firms. You'll be prepared for roles across human resources, supply chain and logistics, marketing and finance.

Professional recognition

How to apply

You can apply for up to eight postgraduate courses. Please list these in order of your preference. If you’re eligible, you’ll receive an offer for your highest preference. If you change your mind, you can change your preferences through the application portal.

About the Graduate Diploma in International Business
If you're looking to quickly build your expertise in international business, La Trobe's Graduate Diploma in International Business is the perfect way to advance your knowledge in just one year. Gain strong and current business knowledge including in business analytics, finance, economics, accounting and logistics. You'll then progress to build a strong understanding of the effective management of multinational firms and you will explore how multinational firms operate – including the intricacies of cross-cultural marketing, global financial management, cross-border negotiations, and international transport and logistics.
After successfully completing the Graduate Diploma in International Business, you could transfer directly into the second year of the Master of International Business, should you decide to continue with your studies.
