Doctor of Clinical Sciences (Professional Doctorate)
If you're a practitioner in clinical sciences (for example, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Vision Science), this degree provides you with an opportunity to extend your professional practice through an integrated program of theory, practice and research. Through coursework, you will develop knowledge and skills in designing and conducting research, literature review techniques, critical analysis and writing for publication, as well as opportunities to apply these skills in clinically-based professional projects.
Academic entry requirement
Honours degree of H2A standard or equivalent, or research Master's, or Master's by coursework with substantial thesis component or equivalent, and at least three years relevant professional or practical experience.
In some circumstances a candidate who can supply sufficient evidence of research capacity may be admitted through a special entry category. Prospective students should contact the School to discuss candidature prior to applying.
English language requirement
TOEFL Paper-based Test - A minimum score of 600 with a score of 6 or more in the Test of Written English;
TOEFL Internet-based Test - A minimum score of 94 with a minimum for SLR 24; W27;
English as the language of instruction in tertiary studies may be accepted. Please note: English as the language of instruction in previous study will not be accepted as a basis of admission (English) for courses where the approved test score requirement is above an IELTS 6.5 with no band score lower than 6.0.
Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE): minimum score of 72 with no communicative skill score less than 68.
Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): a grade of A or higher.
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): A grade of B or higher.
