This course is a comprehensive study package for professionals in health service settings who want to expand their career pathway into senior management roles in public or private organisations. It also provides an entry into the health sector for managers working in non-healthcare settings.

Entry requirements

Prerequisites

Applicants are required to have completed an undergraduate Bachelor's degree in a health-related field, and have a minimum of two years relevant management experience in the health sector.
NB: Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.

Graduates are likely to find roles in senior management in public or private sector organisations.

Professional recognition

The Master of Business Administration has EPAS (EFMD Programme Accreditation System) accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). Professional registration may require an application to the professional body and may have additional or ongoing requirements beyond the completion of the degree. Graduates of the Master of Business Administration may apply for membership with the Institute of Managers and Leaders (IML) and the Graduate Management Association of Australia (GMAA). The Master of Health Administration is accredited by the Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM).
