The Graduate Diploma in Sports Analytics is a one-year degree for those seeking to improve their knowledge and capacity to collect, manage, analyse and present large data sets captured from sport. The course aims to prepare you for roles in the field of sports analytics, and may be of significant interest to currently employed sport and exercise science professionals seeking formal education and qualifications in this area. Local students can study full-time or part-time. After you complete one year of full-time study, you have the option to apply for entry into the Master of Sports Analytics.

The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 8.

Entry requirements

Prerequisites

The minimum entry requirement is successful completion of an Australian cognate Bachelor degree (or its equivalent) in computer science and/or sport and exercise science. Prior learning developed through relevant work experience or professional accreditation, where it is deemed to be at least equivalent to that obtained through a cognate Bachelor degree, may be considered. In making an offer to an applicant, the University will give consideration to a range of factors to determine whether an applicant has demonstrated the capacity to work at a postgraduate level, including academic record, English proficiency, and/or employment experience.

Career outcomes

Graduates will be able to seek employment with sporting clubs (community and elite) and other sporting organisations involved in the performance analysis of athletes (eg: institutes for sport, sports academies).
