Master of Management (Corporate Governance and Risk)
Join the fast-growing area of corporate governance and risk management. This course equips you with the knowledge and skills required for effective management and responsible leadership, with a particular emphasis in corporate governance and risk management.
You'll explore a range of corporate governance and risk principles and their application within a quality management framework including elements of good corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, the role of boards and board meetings, ASX and listing, identification and management of risk and compliance frameworks.
You'll study with students from a diverse mix of academic backgrounds ranging from engineering, humanities and science, to management and business, in a way that facilitates dynamic multidisciplinary innovation and exchange of ideas.
We offer a flexible timetable that allows you to balance your study with other commitments. All core subjects are available as evening classes.
Academic entry requirement
An Australian Bachelor's degree in any discipline or an approved equivalent qualification. Admission may be granted to applicants without an undergraduate degree but with five or more years of relevant work experience. In making an offered to an applicant, the University may give consideration to a range of factors including English proficiency, academic record and employment experience.
NB: Meeting minimum entry requirements does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.
English language requirement
IELTS (Academic): minimum score of 6.5 with no individual band score less than 6.0.
TOEFL Paper-based Test: minimum score of 575 (minimum score of 5 in the Test of Written English).
TOEFL Internet-based Test: minimum score of 80 with minimum overall for SLR 18; W 22.
La Trobe Melbourne (ELICOS): Completion of the English for Further Studies Advanced Stage 6B at La Trobe Melbourne with minimum 60 per cent overall and 60 per cent in final exam. For more information please visit the La Trobe Melbourne website.
English as the language of instruction in tertiary studies may be accepted. Please note: English as the language of instruction in previous study will not be accepted as a basis of admission English) for courses where the approved test score requirement is above an IELTS 6.5 with no band score lower than 6.0.
Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE): minimum score of 64 with no communicative skill score less than 59.
Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): a grade of B or higher.
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): a grade of C or higher.
Or approved international equivalent.
Graduates may find roles in the management discipline and/or specifically in a broad range of roles in corporate governance, compliance and risk management.
Graduates of the Master of Management (Corporate Governance and Risk) (085005C) may apply for membership with the Governance Institute of Australia and The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA). Membership may be subject to additional or ongoing requirements beyond completion of the degree. Please contact the relevant professional body for details.
